Plot
When the vast Lawson cattle station lacks an heir, Australia’s rival factions see an opportunity to take control. The series was filmed across the Northern Territory and South Australia in locations so remote they are barely inhabited – let alone shown on screen.
We really enjoyed the this series
Sites include the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park – with special permission from the traditional owners – and Tipperary Station, an actual working cattle station so large it has its own airport and school.. Great actors.
Anna Torv is wonderful as the complex female antagonist
We loved Robert Taylor in Longmeier, he’s a great old man in a western style. We loved her on the Fringe, but we didn’t realize she was Australian because she lost her accent.
Ditto for Michael Dorman who was in For All Mankind
It’s pretty amazing how British and Australian/New Zealand actors can drop their accents and sound so American. It’s nice to have plays set in nature, instead of concrete cities and constant violence.
If you liked Yellowstone, you’ll like this
I really hope there will be a season 2.
