This animated anthology series features original stories set in iconic video game worlds. Video games have made a huge splash on the big screen, and we’re celebrating the genre by taking a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations in movies and shows. Clive Standen will reprise his voice role as Demetrius Titus, the main character in the Space Marine 2 video game. This episode takes place after the events of the game. As mentioned in the Movie Junk Podcast: Episode 973: Carry-On (2024). The animation is beautiful, there’s no denying that. However, I have a hard time getting excited about such short episodes. They feel like amateurish efforts. You can’t fully engage because you know it’s going to end before you’ve even formed any kind of connection with the characters. It’s nice to see some celebrity involvement. Reeves and Arnie play likeable characters. It all feels a bit experimental and lacking in depth to me. And if I had the chance to choose the source material, I think I would have chosen a completely different set of games to worship. The Pacman episode is okay, but it’s a demonstration of artistic license being taken to its absolute limit. At least I got a laugh out of it. Overall, I found the entire series a bit disappointing. A 6 for graphics.
